Role Models.

"The term role model generally means any "person who serves as an example, whose behavior is emulated by others"-wiki
Notice how it doesn't say they are a "good" example, or that their behavior is something that SHOULD be emulated.


According to Wikipedia, some the most popular role models of British school children in 2008 were... David and Victoria Beckham, Paris Hilton(seriously?) Keira Knightly, Jonny Depp, Daniel Radcliff, Russel Brand...and several others. 

This list basically really surprised me....but should it surprise me? 
People want a good looking, strong, rich person to be their role model. 
They choose famous people who give a lot of money to charity to be their role model. 

What about you? Who's your role model?

For me? I don't have or even want a famous person as my role model. 

I look to those that I know to be my role models. People that I can see growing in the Lord. People that are humble and have a servants heart. People that encourage others. People that are full of joy. 
I can truly say to you that I have many role models in my life. My church is filled with Godly men and women that LOVE to serve God. I am so thankful for the people that God has placed in my life.
 The one thing that makes me say "wow, i want to be like that when I grow up" is their relationship with Jesus Christ.

On the other hand, I've realized that as we get older, WE become role models to those younger than us! I remember when I was young, I would always watch and look up to the teenagers in my church, now I am one of those teenagers, there are probably younger kids that are watching me! I pray that God would make me a good example, that He would use me to be a light in this world. So that HE may get all the glory. 

 People are well...human. Humans make mistakes!  People are sinners. People will disappoint you. That's why it's so amazing to have the best role model of all, Jesus Christ. He came and lived a perfect life. He should be your top role model. 
He should be your hero.
