I googled "definition of thankfulness" the first thing that came up.
"Thankfulness: gratefulness: warm friendly feelings of gratitude."
Whaaaaat? Quite frankly, I'm surprised. Is Thankfulness just a warm friendly feeling?
"Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples" -Psalm 105:1
"Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ"-Ephesians 5:20
"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."-1 Thessalonians 5:18
"For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened" -Romans 1:21
I don't believe thankfulness is just a feeling, there has to be action.
I know so many times i say :
- I'm Thankful for my family.
- I'm Thankful for a warm house to live in.
- I'm Thankful for my salvation.
- I'm Thankful for my friends.
- I'm Thankful for the trials in my life that help me grow.
- I'm Thankful for my freedom.
- Do I show my family I'm thankful by being helpful and loving?
- Do I open up my warm house for others to enjoy?
- Do I share God's love with others?
- Do I let my friends know that I am thankful for their friendship?
- Do I always thank God for these trials and ask for more?
- Do I know what's going on in my country and do I(will I) support Freedom by the way I vote?
How was your Thanksgiving?
What are your thoughts on Thankfulness? I'd love to hear them!
